Video: Wis. Police Officer Dragged 20 Feet Before High-Speed Chase
A Wisconsin police officer was dragged about 20 feet during a high-speed chase earlier his month.
The incident happened Oct. 6 when Wauwatosa police pulled over a vehicle for multiple violations, WITI-TV reports. Officers discovered that the driver—identified as Robert Jobe, 26—had an outstanding felony warrant, and the suspect tried to flee the scene.
In footage captured by a dashboard camera, an officer opened Jobe's car door and became caught on the vehicle as the suspect's vehicle sped away. The officer was dragged around 20 feet before he fell away from the vehicle.
A vehicchase then ensued, and Jobe reached speeds of over 100 mph, driving the wrong way through traffic at times. Stop sticks finally were deployed by police, and Jobe's car was disabled.
Jobe tried to elude police on foot, but officers were able to catch up with and order the suspect to stop. A TASER was used on Jobe before he was arrested.
